SRIVIDYALAYA COURSES & REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Srividyalaya offers a place to learn, to converse and to evolve in a community of shared interests.  We welcome your participation at any level you desire and we are happy to recommend courses that may suit your interests and meet your level of experience.  Most of our courses have no prerequisites and we are inclusive of all views and backgrounds and deeply committed to the respectful advancement of knowledge.

All Srividyalaya courses are currently taught by Dr. Douglas Brooks.

Each Srividyalaya course includes three main components:

(1) The Lectures.  Each course consists of lectures given by Dr. Douglas Brooks.  (The lectures vary in length depending on the courses you select.)  The lectures for our 2012 courses will be posted to the Srividyalaya Web Forum on Monday mornings during the 2012 sessions.  Participants will be notified by email when the new lecture is available and sent a link for easy navigation within the system.  You are also welcome to register for Archived Courses from past sessions.  See our Course Descriptions Page for all of our course information.

(2) Course Archive.  Each course has its own online Archive.  The Archive will include the course syllabus, optional reading list, extra course materials and the digital recordings (mp3 files) of the lectures.

(3) Course Web Forum.  Each course has its own dedicated web forum, which will remain accessible even when your formal course has come to an end.  The course forum will provide a place to deepen the conversation and the opportunity to communicate directly with Dr. Brooks.  Here, we invite you to:
                  • Share your insights and experience with fellow seekers
                  • Hear from visiting scholars who will be sharing their expertise
                  • Receive assistance from our forum moderators

Srividyalaya 2012 Course Offerings

In 2012, in addition to our archived courses from 2011, we are offering a total of twelve new courses in three 12-week sessions.  That’s four new courses per session throughout the year.  Our basic courses will range in length from 24-hours (two hours per week) to 12-hours (one hour per week).  We are also adding two 5-hour courses to each of the three sessions.

You are welcome to enroll in as many courses per session as you like and you are welcome to register as your schedule allows.  A few of our new courses will have prerequisites.  Any prerequisites are listed in the course descriptions.
